This is my book. The images didn't turn out as good as I wanted them too as I did not have access to the proper tools but I think it turned out fine. I want to keep working on it just because I like the story.

Monster Sketch
Pop 4 Props
This is an image I made for my brother out of images of him skating. At first I just made that image that looks like graffiti but then I had the idea to embed it into another image. On the second image, I wanted to get into the skateboarding mindset, so I blacked almost everything out except for the sky and highlighted the lines on the ramps and slopes of the skatepark. The idea is that the skater is totally focused on just skating and isn't thinking about anything else. I also made it so that you can't see my brother in the air but you can see him in the graffiti, with the metaphor being that he is part of the skatepark or vice versa.
Book in progress...
NINJA
I was stoked for that movie Ninja Assassin and decided to draw a ninja picture. After much thought, I decided to go with a ninja cutting someone in half. I tried to put in a lot of detail while maintaining a comic book feel. I also wanted to demonstrate some strong perspective. It kind of looks like a Frank Miller drawing (he probably would have made a better Ninja Assassin movie). My favorite part is the hair on the guy getting cut in half.
The Trumpet
I think I was in a trance or something when I made this. I was tired and wanted to sketch something but didn't know what. I forced my hand to keep moving and ended up with a weird shape that looked like someone playing a wind instrument. At some point I regained consciousness and decided to play with the colors and fix some of the lines. This took about 10 minutes.
Dragon Sketch
Paper Crook
JA! Rastafarianism
I made this in about 10 minutes. I guess I was feeling "Irie I." Actually, I just wanted to play with the color mixer and felt that red, yellow, and green would be good to mess with. First I split up the screen with the three colors. Then I got a picture of Bob and another picture of a lion. I positioned them to where I liked and messed with the opacity so that the two images became one. After all that i began selecting parts of the image within the different sections of color and messed with hue and color balance to get the image the right color. I repeated that step until it looked nice then I moved the original red, yellow and green blocks over the now colored image and messed with the opacity again. Ja

Spere of Light
These are some finalized versions of my sketch the I worked over with photoshop. I don't know which one I like the best. The black and white one is the original. Then I messed with color balance in the second and third image. I also inverted the third one and I think it turned out pretty well. I might have to set one of these as my desktop background.
Playing with Light: Sketch
Collage
List of Objects:
Girl
Bunch of crazy swirly things
Sky
Ladder?
My eyes kind of get lost looking at this picture. I think my eyes start at the face. Next, (maybe just cause I'm a guy) my eyes go towards the opening in the shirt. After that the right hand and finally the left shoulder. I didn't even really notice the background until I listed it.
This is a really interest use of collage. I don't know if its a sculpture or just photo manipulated. I don't even know who the artist is or what its called. I was just browsing the internet and this photo linked back to metapedia.com.
This Is Halloween
List of Objects:
Jack Skellington
Moon
Spiral Hill
Fence
Pumpkins
Grave Markers
Text
This is a very dark image mostly colored with a dark purple and black contrasted with some bright yellow and orange. Your eye is first caught by the giant bright yellow moon in the background which is encompassing Jack. From there your eyes wander down the hill to the text that is also a bright yellow, reading "The Nightmare Before Christmas." Finally your eyes fallow the pumpkin patch around the spiral hill, completing the journey back at the moon.
With my favorite holiday coming up, I couldn't help but putting the poster from my favorite holiday movie up on my blog. I love how Tim Burton uses dark disturbing artwork to convey uplifting and meaningful messages. He's just so silly. Usually scary is just scary, but Tim Burton twist that emotion and makes it fun.

Holy Combat
List of objects:
Jesus
Gun
Knife
Soldier w/Gun
Banshee(Aircraft) x2
Warthog(Truck)
Explosion
Part of the Sistine Chapel Ceiling (God)
Trees
Mountains
Light
Lasers
Various Words
The dominant element is Jesus. Next you would notice the words "Halo Holy Combat." By shear contrast to that and just the obscenity of the whole thing, the next thing that would be noticed are the words directly beneath that (because your curious). Next you would start to notice everything in the background that is just cluttered around. The last thing to be noticed would be the part of the Sistine Chapel ceiling depicting God due to the low opacity.
I personally think that this image is quite funny. I know there are probably a lot of people who wouldn't and I seriously debated putting this picture up. Being a gamer, I personally think Halo is by far one of the best games out there. I wouldn't be surprised if someone made a religion out of it. Yay, first amendment!
Halo is a pretty well known game and when it first came out I thought it was going to be something religious. Its funny that the artist actually put the two together. There are some hidden religious themes in the real Halo game but not straight up mentioning Jesus. For example, in the Halo story some aliens believe their suppose to protect some holy relic but Earths military finds it and wants it. Kinda like whats happening in the middle east....
Anyways, I got this picture off the dogblog and they were talking about a new Halo game. Not quite sure who the artist is but they do demonstrate their ability to use collage, even though their topic choice is a bit dicey.
